For the eye-catching paint job, Bill tuned to House of Kolor paints. He shot Candy Red and Pagan Gold over a smoked base. In case you don't know, this is an old custom paint trick where you blow wisps of smoke into fresh clear paint, then trap it with more clear coat. During the van craze of the 70's, painters would use an over-rich acetylene torch to produce the smoke. On models you can use matches or like Bill, you can burn some old sprue.
